Announcing the 2026 MITA Photo Contest!
It’s officially autumn, and that means it’s time for Maine Island Trail adventurers of all stripes to go through the camera roll and submit their best of the best to the 2026 MITA Photo Contest!
The rules are simple. Submit your best photos (no more than three, please) to MITA’s own photographer, Nick Parson, at nick@mita.org by noon on Friday, October 16. Shortly after the deadline, our finalists will be selected and the MITA community will be called upon to vote for winners.
We’ll have prizes for the top three finishers, with the grand prize winner also receiving publication of their winning photo in the upcoming winter edition of The Island Trail.
Rules:
- Submit no more than three photos by noon on Friday, October 16.
- Photos must be taken from or feature a site on the Maine Island Trail.
- Please indicate where you took your photo — we would love to know!
- Photos must be your own work.
- MITA will claim no license on any submitted photos, and will only publish photos for the purposes of promoting the 2026 Photo Contest, voting, and recognition for our grand prize winner in our winter newsletter.
