Perfect small sailboat Weasel Cat

Great for an adult or children! This one-design sailboat called a Weasel Cat, was a club trainer in the 1930s–50’s. It is how thousands of kids learned to sail.

Constructed by Palmer Scott & Co., New Bedford, Massachusetts. It has a cockpit large enough for 4 kids (virtually unsinkable, and if tipped will head into the wind).

This boat was thoroughly re-build in 2012, including:

  • Epoxy-embedded fiberglass encapsulation of hull (no leaks)
  • Restored centerboard trunk
  • New mahogany coaming
  • Gunter Marconi rig for easier trailering and hoisting
  • Fir mast, sitka spruce spars with mast hoops and leather chafing gear
  • New woven polyester sail from Thurston (the original sailmaker) with reef points
  • 5 lb Danforth-style anchor and nylon rode
  • Stored indoors since re-build
  • Ready to tow with with galvanized trailer, recently maintained
