This Nexus Planing Dory was built by Andrew Kitchen and first launched by him in 2018. At 21′ length overall the boat has a roomy cockpit and enough space for six people. There are lockers beneath the bench seats and the open cubbies under the two forward seats so there’s plenty of storage. to go along with the cabin. The cabin has an upholstered semi-V-berth, with room for someone to change into a bathing suit in private.
The 2018 Honda 40HP outboard motor is reliable and quiet and moves the boat right along with 2-4 people.
There is also a custom bimini to provide shelter and cushions for all the seating areas and cabin. The 2018 Karavan trailer is in great condition.
Here is a great article about this exact boat in Small Boats Monthly’s January 2023 issue. This boat was bought from the builder used for a couple of years and then donated to the Maine Island Trail Association, to support island access and stewardship.
