Catalina 38 sailboat & dinghy

“Black Pearl” is a 1982, 38ft Catalina Masthead Sloop designed by Sparkman & Stephens. It has a 25 HP Universal Atomic diesel engine with a new alternator and has been winterized.
The height with the mast is 56ft, Beam is 11.8ft, LOA is 38ft and Shoal Draft hull 4’-11”.
Helm equipped with Edson pedestal, Raymarine autopilot and GPS Map/Radar Garmin 4212 with upgraded software and a radar arch. Comes with a Nautica dinghy.

The following list of upgrades have been completed since the boat was sailed in 2024:

  • Extensive fairing and prepping/painting below the waterline hull with Petit ECO Hydrocoat and painting above water line with two finish coats of AwlGrip Top Coat.
  • Repairs to holding tank and hoses.
  • Construction of new cherry electrical panel with Blue Sea 8084 Breaker assembly for AC and DC loads.
  • New LED dimmable, bi-color touch lamp fixtures
  • 90% of interior cabin brightwork completed with 6 coats of varnish.
  • Approximately 60% of exterior brightwork completed with 8 coats of varnish.
  • 2 sets of main sails and 2 genoa sails refurbished by Bohndell Sails in 2024.
  • New teak and holly flooring.
  • House and Engine batteries replaced in 2024, (3 batteries).
  • Refurbished 50% of exterior brightwork.
