As the boats are put to rest and last projects finished up, the MITA staff reflected on the stewardship season. It was a year of growth for MITA – the stewardship staff added a new stewardship associate position to the team. Two, new-to-the-position island caretakers were on Jewell and Little Chebeague this summer, after both former caretakers retired from their long stints. Group service days were another notable growth point. Over 30 groups volunteered their time on the Trail!
