Outer Bar Trap Cleanup, Day 2

Join MITA for a volunteer day on Outer Bar Island just outside of Corea Harbor. Experienced MITA staff or volunteer skippers will take a crew out by small skiff to assist in shoreline cleanup and the removal of derelict fishing gear. Free, local camping is available from Wednesday (5/15) to Saturday night (5/17); please reply to the confirmation email to let us know if you’d like to reserve a spot for any night.
Boat departs at 9 a.m. and volunteers are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Project work will begin upon arriving on the island. The crew will break for lunch and continue working afterwards then return to the mainland around 4pm. This is a full day event, and volunteers need to be physically fit, able to climb in and out of the skiffs, and walk along uneven and often slippery shorelines.
