Mistake Island Workday

Join MITA for a volunteer day on Mistake Island off of Jonesport. Experienced MITA staff will take you out by small skiff to assist in shoreline cleanup, vegetation management and boardwalk repair.
Boat departs at 9 a.m. and volunteers are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Project work will begin upon arriving on the island. The crew will break for lunch and continue working afterwards then return to the mainland around 4pm. This is a full day event, and volunteers need to be physically fit, able to climb in and out of the skiffs, and walk along uneven and often slippery shorelines.
