This summer MITA member Anne Bridgman joined a clean-up crew on Seguin Island. She recently sent a great photo and short-but-sweet trip report:
Just sending along a group picture of the enthusiastic and hard working crew that worked out on Seguin Island on August 6th this summer. They cheerfully cleared brush away from under the tramway, which enabled the Friends of Seguin Island Light Station volunteers to thoroughly assess its condition in anticipation of the tramway’s upcoming restoration. Much of this work was on a steep slope and amongst rumors of poison ivy. The MITA crew tackled the work without complaint and with competence, and completed the job ahead of schedule, with time to enjoy the trails, towers and views that Seguin has to offer.
